Active travel candeliversubstantial health benefits as well as helping tackle someof ourenvironmental issues such as emissions and congestion.However forus to really drive change in the city, we need betterdata and abetter understanding of how the city moves on 2 wheels.And thereal knowledge lies with the people who cycle in thecityBy using the power of your smartphone we can help empowerthecycling population of Glasgow. By giving visibility of route’s,thetimes types of journeys being undertaken by the citizensofGlasgow, together we can build a true picture of our cyclingneedsand allow the city to deliver a better cycling experiencetocitizens and visitors.Key Features:• The Glasgow cycle map will help you find cycle racks andrepairshops. More data points will be added over time from theOpenGlasgow data platform.• Track your route. These routes are trimmed (start and endpointsare ‘fuzzy’) and added anonymously to the open GlasgowCyclingAPI.• Discover nearby routes. View routes recorded by others.• Search routes and use local knowledge. View a route madebysomeone else from your current location to another part ofthecity.• Keep an eye on your activity. See how far you’ve cycled andhowmany times using the profile statistics.• The app will also give you a weather forecast so hopefullyyoudon’t get caught out by our predictably unpredictableweather.Note: Continued use of GPS running in the backgroundcandramatically decrease battery life.
